Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking an experienced operations leader to drive safety, quality and production improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes rooting cause analyses, coaching teams, and ensuring adherence to processes and IKO values. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree related to industrial technology, engineering, or management, plus at least five years in manufacturing, including three in supervision.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation), analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent.
  • Flexible to work varying shift and days.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, safety, quality and production.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis of issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Train employees on safety, quality, and production processes and track participation.
  • Document and maintain reports, checklists, production metrics, and incident investigations.
  • Manage daily work activities and ensure adherence to IKO values and policies.
  • Oversee shift operations and coordinate with teams to meet production targets.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;

  • Actively facilitating and participating in Root Cause Analysis of issues negatively impactingsafety/quality/performance,and ensure effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions
  • Championing in hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior-based safety and risk assessment programs
  • Leading daily safety share, encourage, and recognize all safety behavior and lead by example
  • Increasing employee engagement and improving the culture climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
  • Ensuring employees receive training on processes relating to safety, quality and production. Conduct training sessions as needed and track participation. Regularly request feedback from trainees to ensure a high-quality experience
  • Job training with STD work description, SOP and WI
  • Safety training, STOP. FLRA and all others safety programs
  • Resolving any conflict immediately and assuring that behavior is in line with IKO values. Ask for help if needed
  • Ensuring proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
