Job Summary

Seeking a dependable and safety-focused Loader/Asphalt Equipment Operator & Plant Maintenance team member for our Newark, NJ Asphalt plant. Responsible for operating heavy equipment, primarily loaders, and performing routine and preventative plant maintenance to ensure efficient production. Saturday availability is required during the production season.

Daily Responsibilities

1. Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement.
2. Perform daily maintenance on the plant.
3. Follow all safety rules, procedures, and regulations.
4. Conduct pre-shift equipment and workplace inspections.
5. Maintain communication with team members.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with Loader Size 980.
• MSHA Training is a plus.
• Reliable attendance.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Knowledge of plant maintenance and materials.
• Independent worker with good judgment.

Working Conditions

Work may involve exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust, despite most equipment being air-conditioned.
