Job summary

GreenGate Fresh LLLP is seeking a forklift operator to move pallets, manage inventory, and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment in Yuma, AZ. You will follow strict safety procedures, perform pre-start checks, and support loading and unloading operations as needed.

Requirements include at least 2 years of forklift experience or certification, bilingual English/Spanish a plus, and completion of GreenGate Fresh Forklift Training.

Responsibilities

Job description

Summary:Operates a forklift to stack and retrieve supplies and materials. Responsibilities also include documenting and maintaining inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Adheres to all safety policies and proceduresObeys all Cal/OSHA guidelines and regulationsEnsures equipment is in safe operating conditionMoves pallets from one area to anotherEnsures that pallets and boxes are properly accounted forEnsures that daily inspections of equipment are completed before utilizationMaintains clear and open communication with managementGeneral warehouse duties as neededPerform a combination of the following duties including but not limited to:Must follow product rotation procedures, and organization while using internal day code systemInspect all trailers before loading for any issues (ie damage, torn chute, foul smell…)Verify order number and truck name with line truck driver prior to loadingLearn and understand the various loading configurations, and patterns of product / commoditiesLoad transport vehicles, making sure loads are evenly and securely placedLoad trailers safely and properly while using standard loading procedures / patterns without damaging produce, boxes, or trailer equipMust understand weight distribution on long haul trailers and demonstrate loading capabilities (ie loading and stacking techniques, including separating wet and dry goods)Document on loading manifest the exact quantities of all commodities loaded into trailer, as well as any additional services performed (ie stacking, bagging, and corner boarding)Must be able to read and follow loading instructions, and communicate with line truck drivers any weight restrictions / limitsAssist dispatch office with product availability to help schedule truck loadingFollow safe operating proceduresMaintain a clean work area, and material handlingKeep a record of daily operationsService and make minor adjustments to the forkliftMust be able to work flexible hours in a cold environment (33 Deg F / 1 Deg C)Practice the “honor system” – be forthright and honest under all circumstancesSuggest opportunities for improvementFill out pre-start up forklift inspection form- Report any issues to your immediate supervisorInspect the inside of the trailer before loading, and fill out the trailer inspection section on the pick ticket (loading manifest). Contact a supervisor if the walls or air chute are damaged; mark the number of pallets already on board of trailer, if any.Read the loading manifest and read the loading instructions before loadingLoad on a FIFO (Fist in, First out) basis unless stated otherwise on pick ticket (manifest)Load by lot specified on the loading manifestOnly pull daughter tags for product that are the forks of the forklift. Do Not pull more daughter tags from pallets that are not being handled. Load pallets that have daughter tags pulled off and report it on the loading schematicsVerify that the amount ordered on the pick ticket (manifest) matches the amount reported on the loading schematicsReport placement of the recorder on the loading schematics with a “R” on orders that call for a recorderVerify that the recorder is started and place it in the trailer.
