Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a qualified dock/yard worker in Elizabethton, TN to handle staging, loading, and material handling for steel fabrication products. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork while meeting tight deadlines in a manufacturing setting.

Starting pay is $16.25 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential, and additional increases based on experience. This full-time position runs on a 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• 1 year forklift operation experience.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools.
• Willingness to train, certify and operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team.
• Basic measuring instruments knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staging, loading, and material handling for steel fabrication products.
• Ensure scanning of all loaded products into trucks.
• Report safety or quality concerns to Supervisor or Plant Manager immediately.
• Unload and load trucks and trailers.

JOB DETAILS

Shift: 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM - Monday - Friday (Occasional Saturdays)

Starting pay is $16.25 per hour with potential increases based on experience and skill. Plus $1.50 shift differential

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position facilitates staging, loading, and material handling used in the process of preparing steel fabrication product mix for shipment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of loading techniques and have high attention to detail.

• Perform the required duties with the safety of self, fellow dock workers and the receiving parties in mind and quality as the top priority
• Required to scan all products loaded into truck 100%
• Report any safety or quality concerns to Supervisor or Plant Manager immediately
• Unload and load trucks and trailers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or a comparable work environment
• A minimum of one (1) year of forklift operation
• Overhead crane experience is a plus
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments
