Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Elizabethton, TN seeks a dock worker to facilitate staging, loading and material handling for steel fabrication products. Shift is 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays; starting pay $16.25 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of manufacturing experience and forklift operation, with overhead crane experience a plus and a focus on safety and quality in a team setting.

• Minimum of 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate staging, loading and material handling for shipment preparation.
• Ensure safe loading practices and maintain quality standards.
• Scan products loaded into trucks and report safety or quality concerns.
• Unload and load trucks and trailers.

JOB DETAILS

Shift: 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM - Monday - Friday (Occasional Saturdays)

Starting pay is $16.25 per hour with potential increases based on experience and skill. Plus $1.50 shift differential

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position facilitates staging, loading, and material handling used in the process of preparing steel fabrication product mix for shipment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of loading techniques and have high attention to detail.

• Perform the required duties with the safety of self, fellow dock workers and the receiving parties in mind and quality as the top priority
• Required to scan all products loaded into truck 100%
• Report any safety or quality concerns to Supervisor or Plant Manager immediately
• Unload and load trucks and trailers

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or a comparable work environment
• A minimum of one (1) year of forklift operation
• Overhead crane experience is a plus
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments
