Job summary

Penske Logistics in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Load Planner to coordinate freight movement and customer service. You will process orders, plan shipments using Transportation Manager System, tender freight to third-party carriers, and provide visibility to management and customers by tracking shipments and resolving issues.

The role requires strong attention to detail, solid communication, and ability to work first, second, and third shifts as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
1+ year experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and sense of urgency.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must learn and regularly operate multiple computer systems across different platforms.
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and Penske associates.
Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information and solve problems.

Responsibilities

Load-building: add shipments to a load, rate a load, secure carrier coverage and appointment setting.
Monitor and resolve MCP email messages.
Provide excellent Customer Service to assigned accounts.
Call Center and shared email box responsibility.
Provide visibility to management and customers by tracking shipments and auditing processes.
Recover customer loads and complete daily logs and trackers.
