Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Exeter, NH is seeking an attentive nurse aide to provide basic nursing care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patients, perform simple procedures, document care, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families.

A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible hires, with pay starting at $20.50–$29.42 per hour, reflecting experience, shifts, and location.

Qualifications

• Provides basic nursing care under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Performs procedures with aseptic technique when appropriate.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort in accordance with hospital standards.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety/environment of care programs, and infection control standards.
• Performs basic procedures, including incentive spirometry, bedside testing such as blood glucose testing, non-sterile dressing changes, and oral suctioning, while maintaining aseptic technique when appropriate.
• Provides personal care to patients.
• Monitors patient conditions and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
• Performs accurate and timely documentation of patient care information on appropriate patient medical record forms.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards, including assurance and support of patient rights and responsibilities.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑services, meetings, and workshops.
• Determines proper functioning of medical equipment to assure patient safety.
• Participates in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
