Job summary

CHE Behavioral Health Services in New York, NY is hiring Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) to join our clinician-led, APA-approved behavioral health team.

We serve 100,000+ patients across 800+ facilities in 11+ states and offer a consistent caseload with no nights, weekends, or on-call. This position features a Mon–Fri schedule, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field.
• Active LMHC license; associate or limited licenses not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Review schedule, monitor referrals, and note changes in residents’ conditions.
• Meet with residents for brief, focused therapy sessions (support, coping skills, mood, adjustment).
• Complete initial assessments and update treatment plans for new or ongoing residents.
• Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and providers to discuss care needs and behavioral concerns.
• Document sessions, treatment plans, and required notes to meet compliance and billing standards.
• Coordinate follow-ups and communicate with family members when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Start by reviewing your schedule, checking for new referrals, and noting any changes in residents’ conditions

• Meet with residents throughout the day for brief, focused therapy sessions (support, coping skills, mood, adjustment)

• Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and providers to discuss care needs and any behavioral concerns

• Document sessions, treatment plans, and required notes to meet compliance and billing standards

• Connect with family members when needed and plan your schedule and follow-ups for the next day
