Job summary

Recreation Centers Of Sun City West in Sun City West, AZ is seeking an entry-level Bar Attendant to prepare and serve beverages and snacks in a fast-paced setting.

You will verify ages, handle orders, operate the POS, balance cash, and maintain cleanliness. This role requires flexibility for weekends/holidays and emphasizes customer service.

Arizona Title 4 certification required; prior bar experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years directly related experience tending bar.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and prior serving experience.
  • Ability to remain calm with unruly or disruptive patrons.
  • Must be of legal drinking age or older.
  • Maintain a current Arizona Title 4 Basic Liquor Law Training Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, serves, and sells beverages to include wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks as ordered and prepackaged snack items.
  • Ensures that all customers are of legal drinking age by checking and verifying photo identifications.
  • Take customer orders in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Ability to utilize a Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Start and complete transactions using cash, credit, and debit cards.
  • Comply with all state and local food and beverage regulations.
  • Maintains and cleans all bar surfaces and areas maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Properly clean, sanitize and air dries all glassware.
  • Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness to include the ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness and pivot service as needed.
  • Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
  • Properly stock the bar throughout the shift with beer, water, wine, and snacks. At the end of shift, ensures the bar is fully stocked and ready for the next shift.
  • Responsible to manage the cash drawer including, beginning of shift and end of shift balancing; drop cash bag into the safe.
  • Ability to work well, exhibit professionalism and interact with others and deal with potentially ambiguous, intense, or emotionally charged circumstances.
  • Read, interpret, and understand safety, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekend work, holidays, and in some cases schedule changes on short notice.
  • Maintains a consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines.
