Job summary

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience and/or training.
• Animal husbandry skills; knowledge of cattle breeds and characteristics.
• Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use mathematical concepts and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in care and movement of livestock in Feedlot.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance.
• Assigns workers to receive, weigh, inspect, medically treat, and transfer livestock.
• Develops department budget; manages expenses by studying historical data and costs.
• Ensures safety compliance and communicates critical safety information to employees.
