Five Rivers Cattle Feeding in Colorado is seeking a Cattle Department Manager to supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in care and movement of livestock in our feedlot. You will oversee 2-3 supervisors and 15-20 non-supervisory staff, supervise budget, safety, and compliance with USDA/FDA/state laws, and partner with veterinarians to maintain herd health.

Qualificações

• Undergraduate degree; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Animal husbandry skills; knowledge of cattle breeds and characteristics
• Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; apply fractions, percentages, and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in care and movement of livestock in Feedlot.
• Manage 2-3 subordinate supervisors who supervise 15-20 non-supervisory employees; oversee budgeting and purchasing.
• Supervise 1-2 non-supervisory employees; interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff; assign and direct work.
• Assign workers to receive, weigh, inspect, medically treat, and transfer livestock.
• Collaborate with veterinarian to address disease control and corrective actions.
• Ensure safe livestock handling and maintain thorough records to meet withdrawals.
