Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks an Agriculture and Consumer Protection Inspector (ACPI) to enforce state animal health regulations and support disease control efforts across designated counties. The role involves conducting inspections, coordinating with federal partners, and participating in emergency preparedness and response activities.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class E Driver License required.
• Preference for livestock care experience, especially equine or poultry.

Responsibilities

• Enforce state rules and regulations related to animal health and disease control.
• Conduct livestock and poultry inspections at markets, shows, and exhibitions.
• Collect samples, issue quarantines, and educate owners on biosecurity.
• Assist veterinary medical officers with inspections and testing.
• Prepare electronic daily activity reports and manage inventory of supplies.
