Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Plant Industry, seeks a Research Scientist to advance biological control programs in Florida. You will lead rearing protocols, supervise staff, analyze data, and coordinate with IFAS, USDA, and partner agencies.

You will design and execute experiments on biocontrol agents, manage budgets and resources, and prepare technical reports for publication and stakeholder communication. Occasional travel to field sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a major in biological, physical, natural, or agricultural sciences plus 3 years of related experience; or
• Master's degree with 2 years of related experience; or
• Doctorate with related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians and staff in biological control programs.
• Develop and optimize rearing of biological control agents.
• Manage program budgets and resources, and ensure compliance with policies.
