Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking a Public Safety Officer to support the Security Manager and assist in facility and event security at a major venue. This role offers part-time hours with benefits and requires 2+ years of security experience in a public assembly setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida security license (D license a plus) and CPR certification. The position entails evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, and requires the ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of increasingly responsible experience in law enforcement or security services.
• Experience in a first-class public assembly or convention center environment preferred.
• Ability to obtain Florida security license. Security D license a plus.
• Must possess unrestricted Florida driver’s license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance for all activities involved in facility and event security.
• Perform crowd management and control techniques; assist with police and fire rescue.
• Remain calm in emergency response situations that could be life-threatening.
• Understand the organization and operation of the convention center and outside agencies as necessary to assume assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in course of work.
• Assist in general duties of public safety, theft deterrence, and loss prevention.
• Building, parking lot, and safety inspections as assigned by the manager.
• Monitor fire safety equipment, surveillance equipment, and card access equipment.
• Work security checkpoints and other posts plus traffic assistance.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by manager
