Job summary

Bloomberg Media seeks an experienced Broadcast Director/Technical Director to lead live TV production in New York. The role focuses on directing in a fast-paced control room, collaborating with editorial and engineering teams, and delivering high-quality broadcast visuals.

The position is part-time (about 20 hours/week) with flexibility. Ideal candidates have strong live-TV experience, camera switching, and comfort with on-air decision-making in a dynamic newsroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years in live TV environment.
• Experience switching shows; ENPS experience preferred.
• Solid communication skills; adaptable to real-time changes in rundown.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-show meetings with editorial and technical teams to align show vision.
• Conduct pre-broadcast testing of studio and control room infrastructure; verify signal flows.
• Direct technical crew during live production and plan ahead in the rundown with editorial direction.
• Execute live switching of studio cameras, remote feeds, and guests via Sony MVS switcher.
• Manage video playback and feed studio LED surfaces with graphics elements.
• Report successes, issues and faults to Team Leads affecting global counterparts.
