Job summary

L’Arche Homefires is seeking a Live-out Assistant for a permanent 100% FTE role in Wolfville. You will work within a community setting to support core members and engage in daily living activities, learning new skills and building meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the team, attending trainings, and helping with meals, shopping, and transportation. Valid checks and first aid are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of L’Arche history, core values, and mission is an asset.
• Post-secondary education or experience in human services is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Ability to support daily living activities in a shared living setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Learn and affirm the Identity and Mission of L’Arche and adhere to core documents.
• Participate in team meetings, reviews, formations, and community events.
• Support core members in daily living activities and daily life at home.
• Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, cleaning, and household tasks.
• Provide respectful, person-centred care and cooperate with the team.
• Complete eight core competencies and maintain required training.
• Drive core members when needed using L’Arche Homefires fleet.
