Job summary

L’Arche Homefires is seeking an energetic and compassionate Independent Living Support (ILS) Assistant in the Wolfville area. This permanent, full-time role supports six Core Members in homes and community outings, and requires a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain liability insurance.

Training is provided and a comprehensive benefits package applies. Qualifications include strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in human services is an asset.
• Ability to support daily living activities within a shared living environment.
• Willing to complete eight core training competencies and OH&S training.

Responsibilities

• Learn and embody the Identity and Mission of L’Arche and adhere to core documents.
• Participate in team meetings, reviews, and community activities.
• Support Core Members with daily living, transportation, budgeting, and meals.
• Assist Core Members to build connections with family and community.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being through collaboration with the ILS leader.
