Job summary

JBS USA in Virginia offers a 10-week summer internship to help identify operational gaps and improve process efficiency across hatchery, broiler, breeder and feed mill operations. You'll shadow teams, observe live haul, and present a project addressing rendering department issues.

You must be enrolled in a four-year university, maintain GPA 2.5+, and be able to lift 50 lbs. The program provides mentorship, leadership exposure, and a $22/hour wage plus a $2,500 relocation stipend.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum GPA 2.5 or higher.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Will provide support to the live Operations Team.
• Shadow the Hatchery to learn egg handling, vaccinations, transferring and chick handling.
• Shadow Broilers to understand housing and farm operations and day-to-day tasks.
• Shadow Breeders to learn servicing, vaccinations and weighing.
• Tour the Feed Mills to see processes, test procedures and feed types.
• Observe Live Haul and assist with unloading trucks.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department.
