Job summary

JBS USA offers a 10-week summer internship focused on identifying operational gaps and improving process efficiency across our production lines. You will gain exposure to live Operations teams in Hatchery, Broilers, Breeder, Feed Mill, and Live Haul, with a hands-on project related to rendering.

You will be mentored by leaders, learn across multiple areas of the business, and may have early access to career development programs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Support the live Operations Team.
• Shadow Hatchery procedures including egg handling, vaccinations, transfers, and chick handling.
• Shadow Broiler, Breeder, and Feed Mill activities to understand day-to-day operations.
• Observe Live Haul processes and assist unloading trucks.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department.

During this 10-week summer internship, you will use your unique perspective and knowledge to help us find operational gaps and improve process efficiency in a way that makes a genuine mark on our business. Responsibilities:

• Will provide support to the live Operations Team
• Shadowing within the Hatchery: Understanding proper egg handling procedures, vaccinations, transferring, and chick handling. Along with what each employee does in that area.
• Broilers: Witnessing communication with growers and shadow broiler techs to get a good understanding of their day to day. Gain knowledge on housing and farm conditions/operations.
• Breeder's: Shadow working hands with pullet crews. Get firsthand experience in servicing, vaccinations, and weighing.
• Feed Mill's: Tour the feed mill and see the entire process. Understanding the different types of feed and testing procedures.
• Observe the Live Haul process overall and help unload trucks.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation:

- $22/hour with $2,500 relocation stipend
