Job summary

The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara (HACSB) is opening a Property Management position at the 3055 De La Vina site. You will oversee daily operations, tenant relations, and eligibility for Authority programs.

Successful candidates will have property management experience and strong communication skills, with bilingual Spanish a plus. The role requires on-site presence with some evening/weekend supervision and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two years’ responsible experience in residential property management, housing assistance programs and/or social services field.
• Knowledge of tenant retention and relations.
• Ability to interpret complex housing program rules and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, mediation and customer service skills.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of 3055 De La Vina; manage tenant relations, eligibility, recertification, leases and office tasks.
• Determine initial and continuing eligibility for Authority programs including Section 8 in compliance with rules.
• Review residents’ eligibility and modify rent or leases as needed.
• Assign rental obligations and monitor rent reports; handle delinquency notices.
• Coordinate applicant and resident interviews and enforce lease and program rules.
• Maintain waitlists and ensure prompt, courteous communication with tenants and service providers.
• Maintain records, reports and documentation for property and case management.
• Serve as liaison with public and private organizations to meet resident needs.
