Job summary
Paramount Pictures in Baltimore, MD is seeking a highly skilled Newscast Director to lead live, fast-paced newscasts, webcasts and sports specials using the Sony ELC automated production system. The successful candidate will direct under tight deadlines, troubleshoot issues, and help deliver high‑quality productions in a 24/7 newsroom.
You will collaborate with producers and the news team, operate AR/VR sets, manage on‑screen graphics with Chyron ISQ and ChyronHego LUCI, and ensure seamless
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience directing live newscasts in a small to medium market.
- Experience with Sony ELC for automated production.
- Hands-on with Chyron ISQ and ChyronHego LUCI for on-screen graphics during live broadcasts.
- Ability to multitask in a live news environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Direct live, fast-paced newscasts, webcasts and sports specials using Sony ELC.
- Direct AR/VR dynamic sets for News, Sports and Weather.
- Coordinate live and recorded productions and provide studio support as needed.
- Work with producers to develop high-quality, technically sound newscasts.
- Apply technical expertise to create visually engaging productions within guidelines.
- Direct and/or support special sports and entertainment programs, including studio and remote productions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts.
