Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus homes and guiding a group of 8–13 students.

In this two-person role, couples supervise daily routines, mentor students, facilitate devotions and Chapel activities, and manage household operations, with a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three off, and eventual placement in a consistent home.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for students in on-campus homes.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
