Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking dedicated married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and guiding a group of about 8–13 students.

In this life-changing role, couples provide supervision, mentorship, and activities, with a nine-on/three-off schedule initially, and potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation support, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-spouse role: married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds only.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; able to obtain driver certification for student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental and recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
