Job summary

SAIC in Chicago invites applications for a Housing & Residence Life Coordinator (HRLC). This full-time, live-in position manages day-to-day occupancy, oversees housing systems, and leads student staff in community programming.

You will supervise student workers, coordinate summer housing, handle crisis response, and communicate across campus to align with SAIC policies; evening and weekend commitments are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 1+ year of professional or progressive paraprofessional experience in Residence Life, Student Housing, or Student Affairs.
• Strong understanding of student mental health resources, crisis response, and referral pathways.
• Ability to build relationships, communicate across diverse identities, and foster inclusive communities.
• Proficiency with standard office productivity tools and housing databases.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housing occupancy, room assignments, and waitlists with attention to accuracy.
• Administer housing database tasks including assignments, billing, and accounts.
• Supervise student staff; conduct evaluations and provide training.
• Coordinate Summer Housing and ECPSI programs and staffing needs.
• Manage programming and events across residence halls to support student life.
• Lead virtual and on-site communications; use social media to promote programs.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and crisis response for student issues.
• Handle student conduct processes and collaborate with campus partners.
