Job summary

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) invites applications for a Housing & Residence Life Coordinator (HRLC). This full-time, live-in role supports on-campus housing operations and student services with a strong emphasis on community development and crisis response.

You will supervise student staff, manage occupancy and billing workflows, coordinate summer programs, and collaborate with campus partners to ensure a safe, inclusive living-learning environment for SAIC’s student artists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in housing, student affairs, or related field.
• Experience in Residence Life or student housing is preferred.
• Strong communication and crisis-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day occupancy and housing assignments for on-campus housing.
• Supervise student staff and provide leadership in office operations.
• Coordinate housing database, billing, and programmatic housing needs.
• Support crisis response and student conduct; ensure safe, inclusive environment.
• Manage summer housing programs and collaboration with campus partners.
• Maintain regular communication with staff and departments; ensure timely reporting.
