Job summary

Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado seeks a Residence Life Coordinator to oversee a residential community of 300-500 students and 10-30 student staff, reporting to the Assistant Director of Residence Life. The RLC creates a positive living-learning environment and coordinates Resident Learning Model activities.

This 12-month live-in role includes flexible scheduling to support on-call rotations, evenings, and breaks, with on-campus housing and a 2-bedroom apartment provided.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited four-year institution in higher education or related field completed by start of employment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in residence life, housing, student development, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive residential experience promoting learning and retention via the Resident Learning Model.
• Supervise 10–30 student staff (Resident Advisors, Desk Director, Desk Assistants) and support a student leadership council.
• Respond to student concerns, crises, and emergencies and collaborate with campus partners as needed.
• Coordinate facilities-related tasks and desk operations, including access control, packages, and customer service.
• Participate in committee work, staff training, and professional development.
