Job summary

Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a Residence Hall Coordinator to oversee daily operations of a housing facility housing 250–700 residents. This live-in, full-time role involves staff supervision, building management, and crisis response within a 37.5+ hour work week on the Richmond Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of experience required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
• Must reside in the assigned residence hall.
• Be available for on-call responsibilities during weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for departmental processes, occupancy management, and high-level facility and maintenance concerns within the assigned residential community.
• Maintain a consistent presence in the assigned residence hall and foster an inclusive, engaged residential community in alignment with the department’s residential curriculum.
• Provide on-site response to student and facility-related incidents, emergencies, and other campus situations in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures.
• Manage the student conduct process within the residence hall, including addressing behavioral concerns and upholding university policies.
• Supervise student staff through regular one-on-one meetings, weekly team meetings, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching.
• Participate in departmental committees and contribute to broader University and Housing and Residence Life initiatives.
