Job summary

APEX International Education Partners seeks a Part-Time Resident Assistant to supervise international middle and high school students living in a residence hall on Mitchell College's campus in New London, CT. The role is a 10-month live-in position with evening and weekend duties, starting mid-August and ending mid-June.

The RA will work 5:00 PM–10:30 PM on assigned nights, 4 nights per week plus two weekends per month, assisting the House Parent and ensuring student safety and community

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred.
• Experience working with youth or in residential settings is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is required.

Responsibilities

• Be present in the residence hall from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM on assigned duty nights.
• Conduct nightly room check-ins to ensure students are accounted for and following guidelines.
• Provide evening and overnight supervision to international students.
• Monitor student conduct and offer basic support as needed; respond to emergencies with House Parent or services.
• Help foster a respectful, community-oriented atmosphere among residents.
