Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Live-in Maintenance and Innkeeper to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of a charming historic hospitality property. This role combines hands-on maintenance expertise with exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests while maintaining the property’s facilities to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic setting, possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience maintaining historic buildings. This position offers the unique benefit of live-in accommodation with responsive support to guests (10pm-8am) and property needs.

Duties

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including plumbing, electrical equipment, and hand tools, and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters.
• Conduct repairs involving carpentry, painting, plumbing system maintenance, electrical work, and mechanical tasks to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and visually appealing.
• Maintain building interior spaces through painting, carpentry repairs, and general upkeep to create an inviting environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in historic facilities maintenance, repair operations, or similar roles with strong mechanical knowledge.
• Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair
• Ability to operate hand tools effectively; experience with carpentry, painting, and historic building repairs.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Pay: $18-25/hour, depending on experience

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
