Job summary

Fairfield Inn Tallahassee North is seeking a courteous, detail-oriented maintenance engineer to oversee the property’s upkeep and ensure a safe, functional guest experience.

The role involves performing preventive maintenance, using a variety of tools, coordinating with staff across departments, responding to emergencies, and keeping equipment in peak condition. It can be full-time or part-time, with compensation at $17-$20 hourly.

Qualifications

• Requires driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are needed.
• 2–4 years of maintenance experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and systems.
• Use a variety of tools and hardware to complete repairs.
• Coordinate with staff and management across departments.
• Respond to emergencies outside normal hours as needed.
• Observe safety rules for engineering and maintenance work.
• Maintain open communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Act as a liaison between staff and management.

We're looking for a courteous, detail-oriented maintenance engineer to provide our guests with a five-star experience. You'll be in charge of overseeing the property’s overall upkeep and carrying out routine processes to make it fully functional, pleasurable, and safe.

Compensation

$17 - $20 hourly

Qualifications

• Driver’s license and an outstanding driving record are necessary
• Must have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• 2-4 years of maintenance experience is required for this role
• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED
• The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more is required
• Good knowledge of computer software; preferably facilities management software
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Responsibilities

• Tend to all of the hotel's equipment and conduct preventive maintenance routines
• Work with a variety of tools, hammers and screwdrivers, indicators and edge finders, drills, wrenches, and other maintenance tools of the trade
• Stay in constant contact with co-workers, managers, and other departments
• Respond to emergencies that occur outside of regular working hours
• Observe all engineering safety rules and criteria
• React to emergencies that happen before, during, and after your regular work shifts
• Create an available channel of communication between you and other staff, including managers and department heads
