Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA hires Full-time Flex Houseparents: couples live in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision for 8-13 students, helping their academic, emotional and social development.

Responsibilities include supervising, managing routines, administering medications, driving to activities, leading devotions and weekly chapel; nine days on/three off cycle, with future placement in a single student home.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth
• Couples married at least two years
• Both spouses 27 or older
• No more than three dependent children in home
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
• Pets limited to fish and one approved dog
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to get driver certification
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (no proselytizing)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
