Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks full-time Flex Houseparents couples to live on campus, supervise 8–13 students, and provide guidance, care, and supervision to create a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social growth.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, routines, devotions, driving to activities, and budgeting, with a 9 days on/3 days off schedule before transitioning to a placed houseparent role.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule.
• Transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group.
