Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents to provide care, guidance and supervision for a group of 8–13 students living in on-campus homes. The role includes leading daily devotions, managing routines, and driving students to activities.

Applicants must be a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27 or older, and have a high school diploma or GED. A unique, rewarding career with housing and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for a group of eight to thirteen students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning engaging developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes and transitioning to a placed houseparent role.
