Job summary

University Center in Chicago offers a 3-month summer internship for students, interns and groups. The Guest Service Intern will rotate among Guest Service Agent, Guest Room Attendant, and Shift Supervisor, working with housing and sales departments.

The internship provides a furnished apartment, all-inclusive utilities, and a meal plan, with a live-in requirement and professional service expectations. Strong leadership and communication are valued throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills with professional demeanor.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Office and learn new software.
• Experience working with diverse students and staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Guest Service Front Desk.
• Learn and master internal software and badging systems.
• Check-in/check-out guests to housing units using internal system.
• Answer guest calls and onsite requests daily.
• Respond to emails daily and manage guest ledger charges.
• Process meal payments for guests and update room statuses.
• Support housekeeping to prepare rooms and manage inventories.
• Assist with rotation to Shift Supervisor duties weekly.
• Maintain key inventory and re-encode keys when necessary.
• Prepare group housing binders and assist with events.
