Job summary

Palmaz Vineyards is seeking a Grounds and Buildings Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance of the winery, residences, and estate. This full-time live-in role requires supervising a team, coordinating with vineyard staff, and managing vendors.

Housing on the property is provided, with a 60-hour work week and after-hours coverage as described. Responsibilities include planning maintenance priorities, budgeting, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, spoken and written.
• Valid California Driver’s License with clean record.
• Ability to travel around the property for inspections and coordination.
• Experience managing grounds, facilities, or maintenance teams on an estate, winery, ranch, or similar.
• Maintain confidentiality of family, guests, and property; exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently, evaluate alternatives, and manage staffing priorities.
• Capable of physical inspections and manual labor, lifting up to 50 lbs, in varying weather.
• Willingness to live on-site in provided housing as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the grounds and buildings maintenance team and housekeepers.
• Plan staffing, schedules, and training; ensure wage/hour compliance.
• Manage hiring, firing, promotions, and staff changes.
• Set maintenance priorities and oversee tasks and staff.
• Plan budgets, approve purchases, and manage vendors within budgets.
• Coordinate after-hours duties, security, and staff assignments.
