Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, flower beds, and landscaped areas.
• Perform routine landscaping tasks: weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, watering.
• Walk the property to collect trash and debris.
• Keep sidewalks, pathways, patios, and outdoor guest areas clean and presentable.
• Maintain landscape lighting; replace bulbs or components as needed and report issues.
• Identify areas needing cleaning or maintenance and address them.
• Assist with maintaining a welcoming appearance around buildings and parking areas.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance and prepare gardens for weather changes.
• Assist with irrigation systems and basic landscaping equipment; report problems.
• Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools.
• Keep tools and storage areas organized.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Complete other grounds and property maintenance duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Grounds Keeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of the winery and vineyard grounds. This position plays an important role in keeping gardens, landscaped areas, walkways, outdoor guest areas, and surrounding property clean, attractive, safe, and well-maintained for guests and employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, flower beds, landscaped areas, and decorative plantings throughout the winery property.

• Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including weeding, trimming, pruning, mulching, planting, watering, and general upkeep.

• Regularly walk the property to collect trash, debris, fallen branches, and other unwanted materials from the grounds.

• Keep sidewalks, pathways, patios, outdoor seating areas, and other guest-facing areas clean and presentable.

• Maintain and monitor landscape lighting throughout the property, including checking fixtures, replacing bulbs or components when appropriate, and reporting electrical or equipment issues.

• Identify and address areas of the property that require cleaning, maintenance, repair, or additional attention.

• Assist with maintaining a clean and welcoming appearance around buildings, gardens, parking areas, and outdoor event spaces.

• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including preparing gardens and landscaping for changing weather conditions.

• Assist with maintaining irrigation, hoses, sprinklers, and other basic landscaping equipment and report problems as needed.

• Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools and equipment.

• Keep tools, equipment, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized.

• Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment when performing maintenance tasks.

• Complete other grounds and property maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, gardening, or general property maintenance preferred.

• Knowledge of basic landscaping and garden maintenance practices.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position is primarily outdoors on winery and vineyard grounds and requires regular exposure to changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, plants, soil, insects, and outdoor maintenance equipment. The Grounds Keeper should be comfortable working independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
