Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a Grounds Keeper to maintain winery grounds, gardens, walkways, and outdoor guest areas, ensuring a clean, attractive, and safe environment for guests and staff. The role covers landscaping, lighting maintenance, seasonal grounds work, irrigation support, tool handling, and adherence to safety procedures, with a hands-on, outdoors-first daily routine.

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic landscaping and garden maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, lifting).
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in a clean property.
• Ability to recognize maintenance issues and communicate them to management.
• Safe use of common landscaping tools and equipment.
• Dependable and willing to assist wherever needed to maintain appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, flower beds, and landscaped areas.
• Perform routine landscaping tasks: weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, watering.
• Walk the property to collect trash and debris.
• Keep sidewalks, pathways, patios, and outdoor guest areas clean and presentable.
• Maintain landscape lighting; replace bulbs or components as needed and report issues.
• Identify areas needing cleaning or maintenance and address them.
• Assist with maintaining a welcoming appearance around buildings and parking areas.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance and prepare gardens for weather changes.
• Assist with irrigation systems and basic landscaping equipment; report problems.
• Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools.
• Keep tools and storage areas organized.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Complete other grounds and property maintenance duties as assigned.
