Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for about 8–13 students in each home. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, budgeting, coordinating activities, devotions, and Sunday Chapel. The role progresses to a placed houseparent living with the same group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older; high school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and leading devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Supporting multiple student homes initially; transitioning to a placed houseparent with the same group.
