Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks a married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. You will live in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, and mentorship to about 8-13 students, and help create a structured, family-like environment to support academic, emotional, and social development.

With duties including supervising daily routines, coordinating activities, and leading devotions, you will transition to a Placed Houseparent role over time.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol during duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
