Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a maintenance-focused individual to clean, repair, and prepare cages for live haul trailers. The role involves following DOT and animal welfare guidelines, performing necessary paperwork, and operating heavy yard equipment.

You will work in an environment requiring stamina and attention to safety. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior cage maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Must have relative maintenance experience (cutting, grinding, welding).
• Basic math literacy is required.
• Strong work ethic, honesty and character are essential.
• Ability to operate yard equipment (forklift, yard truck, tractor).
• Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize live haul trailers and cages.
• Process paperwork such as work orders and charge parts.
• Inspect and repair cages per DOT and animal welfare guidelines.
• Drive heavy duty equipment safely.
• Maintain a neat and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
