Job summary

ASM Global is seeking an Operations Supervisor to liaison between clients and facility departments and to oversee daily operations, event coordination, staffing, and safety procedures. The role requires supervising staff, training on policies, and maintaining equipment and inventory.

Expect to work outdoors, lift 75 lbs, and meet strict deadlines. The position reports to the Operations Manager and requires full-time, hourly, non-exempt status and the ability to work long and irregular hours

Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
• Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; safe use of tools.
• Have experience with principles and techniques of supervision and training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between clients and facility departments as it relates to Exhibitor Services.
• Attend appropriate meetings.
• Assist with all aspects of operations including event coordination, equipment maintenance, engineering, event staffing, setups and changeovers, event services, fire and life safety and customer service.
• Supervise operations staff: interview, train, plan, assign, direct, appraise performance, reward and discipline.
• Train staff on laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions and emergency procedures.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational problems and complaints.
• Act as liaison with tenants, contractors, and facility users as needed.
• Maintain equipment and inventory.
• Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage or loss of property or any safety concerns to manager.
