Job summary

Gray Media's Lansing operation is seeking a Technical Media Producer to direct live and pre-recorded productions for WILX-TV10. You will manage on-air signals, automate with Ross Overdrive, and coordinate with the ENPS newsroom system.

The role requires coordination across engineering and news teams, working with studio graphics and multiple production systems, and occasional early or late shifts. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Newscast directing/master control experience or technical directing experience in a system nearly identical to WILX.
• Operating knowledge of PCs and graphics computers (Vizrt knowledge and experience preferred).
• Understanding of FCC broadcast regulations.
• Pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct live and pre-recorded productions as assigned for WILX-TV10.
• Operate Ross Overdrive automation, Ross production video switcher, MCR/Harris automation, Utah House routing system, VizRT graphics, and related studio equipment.
• Direct specific newscasts, station productions, and web channel elements.
• Maintain FCC logs and ensure compliance with FCC regulations.
• Work with ENPS newsroom computer system.
• Prep media for news as needed.
• Understand equipment in studios and production areas; ensure equipment care.
• Train new personnel as assigned.
• Overtime may be possible; work schedule varies.
• Other duties as assigned.
