Job Summary

WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan seeks a Streaming Executive Producer to lead and grow its digital‑first newsroom. The role will oversee strategy, daily execution, and expansion of WILX’s streaming products across the News 10+ channel, website, apps, and social platforms, driving engagement while upholding the station’s journalistic standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead WILX’s streaming editorial vision, programming priorities, and day‑to‑day coverage, emphasizing live events, breaking news, weather, interviews, community features, and local stories.
  • Ensure all streaming content meets WILX’s standards for fairness, accuracy, and ethical newsgathering.
  • Create repeatable workflows and best practices for live production, show planning, graphics, and clip distribution.
  • Supervise and train newsroom staff on streaming tools, best practices, and performance expectations; lead by example in editorial and technical execution.
  • Coordinate with the News Director, Content Manager, and Digital Manager to plan and oversee live streams, studio/remote productions, ensuring smooth execution, pacing, and visuals.
  • Partner with news/production/engineering/marketing departments to maintain technical reliability and continually improve the streaming look (graphics, lighting, audio).
  • Use audience insights to refine programming choices, timing, formats, and distribution strategies: track metrics such as retention, watch time, peaks, and engagement.
