Job summary

The Diocese of Tucson is seeking an On-Call Singer/Musician to support the Pastoral Services Department at St. Augustine Cathedral in Tucson, AZ.

The role requires singing for Sunday services and diocesan liturgical celebrations as part of a Schola, serving as a minister of the Gospel in line with Catholic teaching. Responsibilities include performing at assigned liturgical events, maintaining solemnity, coordinating with volunteer musicians, and adhering to Catholic moral standards.

Qualifications

• Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times.
• Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance
• Ability to successfully pass a background and criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a lay minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
• Shall abide by Catholic principles in the singer’s professional and private life, and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures;
• Perform as a singer for the assigned musical events.
• Maintain Church protocol including maintaining an environment of respect and solemnity at all liturgical celebrations
• Maintain open communications with volunteer musicians
• Perform other duties as assigned.
