Job summary

Diocese of Tucson seeks a part-time Musician - Keyboard/Cantor for San Martin de Porres Catholic Parish in Sahuarita, AZ. Lead the congregation in liturgical singing with keyboard accompaniment at Mass, weddings, and funerals under the Pastor's direction.

Ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with strong keyboard skills, good sight-reading, and flexibility to rehearse as needed; bi-lingual skills are a plus. Non-exempt, ~10–15 hours/week.

• Working knowledge and mission of the Catholic Church.
• Must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church.
• Flexible, team player, self-motivated.
• High degree of musicianship and keyboard skills; formal training/experience as pianist/organist required.
• Ability to multitask and work with urgency.

• Neat personal appearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead congregation in chanting and singing with keyboard accompaniment.
• Provide quality musical accompaniment for Mass and other liturgical celebrations.
• Work with Pastor, choir, and cantors; rehearsal and performance coordination.
• Lead when required and rehearse as needed on own time.
• Maintain professional and respectful rehearsal and liturgical environments.
• Maintain communication regarding liturgical celebrations and scheduling.
