Job summary

Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Green Valley, AZ, seeks an On-call Pianist Musician/Singer for the Music Ministry. This part-time, non-exempt role supports funerals, weddings, select weekend Masses, and special liturgical celebrations under church leadership.

The role requires a bachelor’s in music, strong liturgical music knowledge, excellent communication, and ability to pass background and annual environment training. Rehearsals and flexible scheduling are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music
• Experience and knowledge with Catholic liturgical music
• Strong sight-reading skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to pass a background check and annual environment training

Responsibilities

• Perform as a lay minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission
• Accompany congregation at funerals, weddings, select weekend Masses, and other liturgical celebrations
• Attend rehearsals and practice as needed to be prepared
• Maintain reverent church environment during liturgical celebrations and rehearsals
• Coordinate with Pastor, Liturgy Director, and Music Director and attend Music Ministry meetings
