Job summary

Great Firm in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a paralegal with at least 2 years’ experience in insurance defense. You will assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including discovery, court filings, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities include e-filing, conducting legal research, preparing discovery responses, summarizing medical records, managing calendars and bills, and maintaining organized case files.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance defense.
• Proficiency in e-filing and other legal software.
• Strong legal research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal materials.
• Experience in litigation support, including preparing discovery responses and objections.
• Familiarity with medical records and the ability to accurately summarize pertinent information.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a busy calendar and meet deadlines.
• Experience with time entries and billing in a legal setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting attorneys with all aspects of litigation including discovery, court filings, and trial preparation.
• Utilizing e-file systems to ensure accurate and timely filing of legal documents.
• Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy.
• Providing litigation support by preparing discovery responses and objections.
• Reviewing and summarizing medical records and other case-related documents.
• Managing time entries and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintaining an organized calendar of case deadlines, court dates, and other important events.
• Collaborating with attorneys, clients, and other parties to ensure effective communication and case progression.
• Performing administrative tasks such as document management, correspondence, and client intake as needed.
