Job summary

Morgan & Morgan, P.A. is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys before, during, and after trials in our Washington, DC office. The role requires strong litigation experience, excellent communication, and meticulous organization to manage pleadings, discovery, and depositions.

The position is on-site, offers an hourly range of $31.25–$43.27 USD, and includes a benefits package with medical/dental, 401(k), paid time off, and holidays for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 3+ years of litigation experience (required).
• Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
• Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Premises Liability, or related areas (preferred).
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.
• Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and court rules and procedures.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive computer and database experience; MS Word, Excel, Outlook; typing ≥35 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda.
• E-file all court documents in state and federal court.
• Communicate with clients, court, counsel, and others.
• Conduct legal research and factual investigation.
• Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
• Draft and serve summons; coordinate and summarize depositions.
• Prepare trial binders and exhibits; draft appellate documents as needed.
• Perform administrative duties such as calendars and case-file organization.
• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes; organize exhibits and evidence.
• Assist attorneys with interrogatories and discovery requests; support settlements.
