Job summary

City Personnel in Providence, RI is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support a busy legal team on medical malpractice matters, discovery, and fast-approaching deadlines. You will review and organize medical records, draft discovery and other filings, coordinate expert retention, manage e-filing and case files, and communicate with attorneys, clients, experts, and courts to move cases forward.

Qualifications

• Litigation paralegal experience required.
• Medical malpractice experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience reviewing and analyzing medical records is required.
• Experience with expert retention, e-filing, discovery, pleadings, subpoenas, and keeper-of-records depositions required.
• Strong organizational, writing, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, organize, and analyze medical records to identify key facts, evidence, timelines, and inconsistencies.
• Draft discovery, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other litigation documents.
• Coordinate expert witness research and retention, plus keeper-of-records depositions and subpoenas.
• Manage e-filing, case files, deadlines, correspondence, and other litigation support work.
• Communicate with attorneys, clients, experts, medical providers, opposing counsel, and courts to keep cases moving.
