Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in plaintiff-side personal injury, catastrophic injury, accident, and medical malpractice matters.

You will manage intake, organize medical records, draft pleadings and discovery, coordinate depositions and trial logistics, and assist with discovery review and billing. A strong background in high-volume plaintiff work and medical terminology is essential.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, associate or bachelor's degree with paralegal experience; NALA/NFPA or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably plaintiff-side personal injury and medical malpractice.
• Proven ability to obtain and interpret medical records, prepare chronologies, and understand medical terminology.

Litigation Paralegal Plaintiff Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our plaintiff-side litigation team handling personal injury, catastrophic injury, accident, and medical malpractice matters. The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys through all phases of litigation from intake and discovery to trial preparation and settlement ensuring organized case files, timely filings, accurate medical record review, and effective communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is experienced in plaintiff litigation, comfortable with high-volume case work, and skilled at coordinating complex medical and billing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury, catastrophic injury, accident, and medical malpractice cases, maintaining organized paper and electronic files.
• Perform intake duties, obtain and organize medical records, bills, and other relevant documentation; summarize medical records and chronologies.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, subpoenas, and settlement demand packages under attorney supervision.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, examinations, and trial logistics; prepare witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders.
• Handle e-filing, service of process, calendar and docket deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and local procedures.
• Work with retained experts: coordinate records delivery, prepare expert packages, assist with reports and trial preparation.
• Conduct factual and basic legal research; prepare memos, chronology, and case summaries for attorney review.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with clients, witnesses, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel; maintain client status updates.
• Assist with discovery review and organization using document management or litigation support tools; perform privilege logs and coding as needed.
• Prepare and maintain billing/timekeeping records and assist with trial and deposition preparation, including exhibit indexing and demonstratives.
• Support settlement negotiations by assembling damages calculations, medical cost summaries, lost wage documentation, and demand packages.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, associate degree, or bachelors degree with paralegal experience; certification from NALA, NFPA, or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably plaintiff-side personal injury and medical malpractice cases, including catastrophic injury and accident matters.
• Proven experience obtaining and interpreting medical records, medical chronology preparation, and understanding of medical terminology and billing.
• Strong drafting skills for pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement documents.
• Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management and document management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine, TrialWorks, Relativity or similar).
• Experience coordinating depositions, trials, and working with expert witnesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to client meetings, depositions, and court as needed.
